Minimalistic make-up beauty shoot

I recently had the opportunity to work with Sophie, a very talented new model and competitive figure skater. She has such a stunning and unique look that I couldn’t help but capture her in a beauty shoot. We decided to go for a natural look, with gorgeous glowing skin and a simple beige backdrop. By putting her hair up in a messy bun, all the attention goes to her face and her beautiful features.

One of the most difficult things is posing hands. With just a few instructions, Sophie really rocked this part! It is clearly visible that she does both figure skating and ballet, she has such a grace with her hands. It looks effortless!

After capturing some amazing shots, we decided to do something different to finish the shoot. Inspired by the lighting techniques of two of the Old Masters, Rembrandt van Rijn and Johannes Vermeer. Just a little change can change the mood and drama of the image by so much!

Sophie was amazing to work with! She is so excited to create beautiful pictures and gives it her all.

The best feeling in the world is the feeling after a shoot, when you know you have some amazing photos! After working with Sophie, I couldn’t wait to see the results. She gave me so many variations that I was in the luxury position of having a tremendously difficult time to choose!
